Spooky. We were just talking about how students are changing their facebook names to avoid the prying eyes of college admissions officers. Now this. We are not 100% sure of the authenticity of this, but there is a facebook page that has more than 96,000 ‘likes’ right now that claims an applicant was a bit too boastful about a scholarship he got from Harvard. According to the page, the student posted the following status update and was eventually told he was no longer being offered admission.
I personally think this is a hoax and scam because you have to fill out multiple ‘Win an iPad’ surveys in order to view the status update in question. It’s not hard to find a workaround, so let me save you some trouble. Here’s the image and let me know if you think it would happen.
