Web Communications Specialist
The Web Communications Specialist will report to the Director of Web Development and will serve on the College’s Web Strategy Team.
Responsibilities:
-Translate visual designs into standards-complaint CSS and XHTML for use
in content management system (CMS) templates or HTML emails.
-Properly embed Flash applications into sites (e.g., photo slideshow, video
player).
-Assist with migration, maintenance, and enhancement of College Web
sites.
-Use Web analytic tools to present reports on Web activity and to provide
actionable insights.
-Assist with administration of the Communications Mac file server.
-Work with internal clients (such as the Office of Admission) to fully utilize
Web technologies to produce communications that are strategic, timely,
and effective.
-Assist with content changes for Web sites owned by Communications.
-As needs arise, evaluate internet-related products and services (e.g.,
email marketing software, social networking sites, etc.).
-Provide assistance to internal clients using third-party Web tools such as
Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
-Keep abreast of new technologies and how others are using them, and
keep Communications informed about the opportunities and risks they
present for MHC.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
-XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
-Demonstrated ability to write and speak effectively
-Familiarity with marketing and branding concepts
-2-4 years creating and supporting public-facing, marketing-oriented Web
sites
