I would add Popplet, Storyjumper, Aviary Myna, TimeToast, and GoAnimate EDU to this list. Great tools!
Thanks! We've updated the list with your tools. Much appreciated.
I'd recommend Schoology, Google Timeline, Online-ConVert.com, and ReadWriteThink
Pbworks is certainly high on my list.
updated! thanks Carla and Crystal. We're also huge fans of Pbworks and schoology
I think Storybird has great potential. I also love word magnets and museum box.
updated! Thanks Heather.
These are wonderful tools. I'd add Empressr (Slideshows-capability to use images/video/audio), Zoho (Office Suite), EasyBib (Cite all media quickly and easily) & ToonDooSpaces (sharp looking, appropriate, private comics), Crocodoc (annotate websites)
Thanks PJ, updated! We also added in some quick explanations so it's not just a page of links. Easier to use now we hope!
Wonderful tools! I was searching for something similar. BTW, you may like to add squidoo to the list.
What a great page! Thanks so much, I'm always looking for new tools. I can't wait to dive into some of these sites!
hooray!
Great page
There is a searchable database of great web2 apps for teachers here: http://primaryschoolict.com/web2.php
http://www.what2learn.com – thousands of ready made interactive learning games, quickly create your own learning games, teachers can track student progress in the activities, in-built rewards to keep students engaged including a great new Farmville-style element.
Thanks for this valuable list!
I use pbworks (www.pbworks.com) to store and share material.
Marisa (@Mtranslator)
Penzu.com: for online journal writing. Love it!
Wow, lots of things I've never seen before, great list. The first tool I ran across while searching for free teaching and learning platforms was Moodle (http://moodle.org/). They release regular updates and have an active community.
One of my current fcourites is Fotobabble – teachers sign up and use with pupils. Theyupload a photo and add a recording to the picture http://www.fotobabble.com
i would add Kerpoof
fleshlight is the best thing since sliced bread
It's an oldie but goodie and not particularly exciting, just practical. My students use EasyBib all the time. It's a bibliography generator.
Worth mentioning Alphastudy htttp://www.alphastudy.com giving uses the ability to create online learning and knowledge portals, free account available.
My students like using http://www.bubbabrain.com
You may want to try Stixy at http://www.stixy.com/ . It's similar to Wallwisher but allows you insert and upload various things. Plus, it doesn't crash as often as Wallwisher.
Interesting, no publisher-provided technologies on this list…
Very nice collection! Thankyou.
#edchat – SlideBoom: the best way to embed PowerPoint in your website in my opinion
WordPress, ANIMOTO,
I am the developer of Class Collaboration, a new web 2.0 application that allows students to take notes together online, in real-time. Although it is only available at Bentley University right now, but take a look and see what you think…

Rely BEST List of web 2.0
http://www.EdTechToolbox.blogspot.com
May be of some use to you as it is a place to share e-learning and Web 2.0 tools for education. Site says computers and laptops in education are important only when used with good pedagogy. Digital content and creation is an important part of the process for educators in the 21st century.
Great list! Missing (1) http://www.wetoku.com which students would love to use to interview each other on topics of classroom discussion or could be used to interview others world wide! Can then be broadcast publicly or embedded in a blog or website. Also love (2) http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/ to record important info pieces that can later be added to a blog, Prezi or PPT. (3) http://www.podomatic.com/ is also awesome tool for podasting. (4) SymbalooEdu.com is amazing and should be tried by all educators to support organization of tons of content for students. Lastly (5) http://www.Vodpod.com which allows you take practically anything you want to capture for later sharing and embedded on blogs or website. Cheers!
ePals global community (great way to find a collaborative partner classroom for global learning and exchange from 200 countries); LearningSpace (most powerful social learning network designed for K12 with groups, web 2.0 tools, TRUSTe certification of data privacy); eFilms from Snagfilms; schooltube.com; teachertube.com. These are all designed for K12 students and use in schools, NOT a mass market web 2.0 tool that we try to make work in the classroom and still have problems. This is really important for elementary schools!

Can you tell the reader to subscribe the blog via other means beside via RSS? I never read it using my readers whil I can read it on ff.
Add Jog the Web (find the Educ version) and LiveBinders. Both different but great ways to organize online resources.
Yes these both also good web 2.0 website
LiveBinders looks a lot stronger than Jog the Web. I have only used Jog the Web up until learning about this site. http://martinteach.edublogs.org

I use many of the sites listed in your blog article, such as Soho, Wordle, and GoogleEarth. But I did not notice too many photo and graphic editors on your list. We like FotoFlexer, and SumoPaint, as they are free online editors, but pretty powerful.
Lots of my favourites in that collection. I'd add Evernote – I use it myself all the time – a notebook for each class for example. I used a shared notebook recently to share some resources with students and following that several students created their own Evernote accounts.
I will explore a few of the tools which are new to me. Thanks. As for my favorite it would have to be Moodle. If you have a Moodle set up for your school then you gets several of these tools with one convenient login (we have our Google Apps and our Moodle SSO as well). Also we use Mahara (an open source e-portfolio system).
Great collection!
Another one worthy of contention is Gnowledge (www.gnowledge.com), a free-to-use tests and exercises platform benefiting educators, students and parents. Tests and exercises can be created by anyone and are categorized for easy access.
All tests are auto-corrected and results, scores and answers are saved online. Registered users can create, take, share and assign tests to anyone.
Great list. I would add sqworl http://www.sqworl.com which organizes URLs visually, and Digication, http://www.digication.com, a clean, visually-appealing, easy-to-use e-portfolio web app.

Well, since you *did* say it was never too late…. might I add Vialogues.com to this list of notable tools? Vialogues (rhymes with "dialogues") takes learning by video to a new level. Each comment is time-stamped and clicking on this will take you to that point in the video so you can see the comment in the context it was made. Cool stuff! https://vialogues.com

My students love Quizlet and StudyStack to help them review before quizzes and tests. Jeopardylabs.com is a clean, simple review game tool that allows you to change the number of teams each time you play. And Slideshare.net is great too!
