What If Thomas Jefferson Ran Political Attack Ads?

Topics: , , ,

Do you think politicians have gotten more aggressive during recent years? Turns out past elections may not have been as clean and sporting as you may have think. In fact, the only main difference between early American elections and now seems to be the amount of media channels available to candidates.

Let’s take Thomas Jefferson for example, What if he had all the slick video-making equipment that has made it’s way into every candidate’s campaign? Well, the folks over at Reason have unveiled some great half-spoof half-real attack ads as if they were made by Thomas Jefferson. There’s also a version attacking Jefferson by John Adams!

Do you think these attack ads would have made a difference? What if they had been used (assuming there were TVs, radios, Facebook, etc. back then)?
