University Housing and Dining is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to assume the role of Manager, Technology Services. This position is the lead technology resource for University Housing and Dining. In this role, the position provides oversight to the University Housing and Dining technology staff, with responsibility for training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff. This position is responsible for the planning and prioritizing of technology goals and projects, represents the department in campus-wide technology initiatives, and coordinates interfaces between departmental and campus systems. In addition, the position plays an active role developing special custom technology solutions for the department.
A qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or an appropriate related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Other required qualifications include: full-time experience (typically 7 or more years) in information technology or a related field; knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems; conceptual knowledge of databases, applications and systems used by the department; detailed knowledge of modern Windows operating system structures and related security and networking concepts; knowledge of security concepts, support techniques, and system administration skills related to networked computer applications in a Windows environment; reasonable experience analyzing computer system and network performance and recommending corrective action for problems and/or enhancements to the system; ability to write and analyze functional and technical specifications for complex integrated systems; reasonable experience supporting a large group of users with diverse technical skills and needs; ability to create both functional and technical documentation and provide training for system users via both one-on-one and group presentations; excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff; proven ability to direct and develop technical staff, including experience leading project teams; self-motivated with a proven ability to work both independently and as a key part of an effective team; strong analytical and organizational skills; strong customer service and customer relations skills, and demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment.
