The Newbie’s Guide To Building Your Personal Learning Network

Ever wonder how to actually employ some of the latest and greatest Web 2.0 tools available today? Most are free, many are useful, but there’s still a divide between testing a tool and actually using it in the classroom. Cindy Wright (great to follow on Twitter!) of Columbus City Schools in Ohio has a terrific presentation detailing just how to do this. It’s perfect for educators just starting to build their online PLN and also has some great tips for seasoned PLNers as well.

From walking you through how to create or enhance your PLN to real steps you can take TODAY, this presentation has it all.

It’s inspired me to personally reach out to my PLN on a broader basis and hopefully meet new and interesting people. Feel free to connect with me by saying hi over on the Twitters @edudemic!

  1. This is a great post on building a personal learning network. For higher education professionals, PLN's can be very useful. So can communities with professionals discussing common goals-such as using social media in the classroom, for alumni networks, and admissions.
