If you’re a regular on Twitter, you’ve probably noticed something: there’s a lot of people there. In fact, more than 100 million accounts were open in 2010 alone. Might explain why #edchat keeps getting better and better, no?

To show off / celebrate a bit, Twitter whipped up an HTML5-tastic infographic (below) and is promising to deliver 4 more interesting perspectives on their phenomenal growth.

They built a tree (you know, for the Twitter birds) that shows off some of the more noteable new members of Twitter. From Billy Idol to Sly Stallone to Cher to Conan all the way to Don Rumsfeld and the Dalai Lama.

As you can plainly see, everyone and their mother is signing up and getting on the tweet train. There’s an array of personalities and hashtag-based conversations for just about everything. Only time will tell what comes next for Twitter.

In the meantime, head over to the new page (launched today) and learn a thing or two about Twitter. Enjoy!
