As Edudemic 2.0 gets slowly rolled out, I wanted to alert readers and partners to a new initiative taking place behind the scenes right now. Here’s the skinny:
Problem
There are countless great ideas being thrown around cyberspace every day when it comes to enhancing education through technology. Many of these ideas could turn into huge worldwide success stories if they just got one thing: funding. However, crowdsourcing services like Kickstarter and VC funding firms don’t exactly pay much attention to a teacher with a good idea. That’s where Edudemic comes in.
Solution
Edudemic has partnered with ChipIn Services to develop a new place for teachers and education professionals to apply for funding. Who are they applying to? You! There will be an application that teachers must fill out and, if approved, they will get their own page on Edudemic and ChipIn that they can send users too so they can donate to make the idea a reality. It’s completely up to the applicant how much money is needed and up to them to make sure the project or idea uses every donated cent to make dreams become reality.
Where You Come In
I want to hear from you if you’d be interested in this 100% free service. Simply send me an e-mail at edudemic @ gmail.com and let me know that you’re interested in applying to be a part of this service. Simple as that. When applications become available (in a week or so), you’ll get your application reviewed first if you send an e-mail in during this preliminary period.
It’s going to be very exciting and there will be a lot more information about this service coming soon. Until then, e-mail me to let me know if you might consider using this service. Thanks and be sure to share this with your friends and coworkers who may benefit from getting some much-needed funding for that great idea they just had.

I might be interested. Why would a person want to use this service over donors choose?
Terrific question! Donors Choose is all about school supplies and such. Edudemic Projects is all about funding ideas and helping teachers develop ideas into nationwide / global initiatives. This will be certainly detailed once the service is rolled out (soon!) and will be about a lot more than school supplies. Thanks for your interest!
I think this is a terrific idea….$$$ becomes more and more scarce. As someone who wants to move into more digital images, I want to explore how to become more mobile and more compact with our resources. We're experimenting with some traditional tools like Skype, Google Earth and blogging…but what if we found a way to use our cell phones or iTouches or iPads to do the same thing? Then we wouldn't need to rely on laptop so much. I think it's really a move to make it accessible for everyone.
Thank you for doing this.
LOVE the idea of not relying on laptops so much. Keep giving that some thought (an app that might be perfect for you, a new website that might help, etc.) and stay tuned for the application later this week!
