Remember that scene in Good Will Hunting where Matt Damon and Robin Williams have a breakthrough moment and hug? Teaching is a tough job but the rewards are enormous. Damon defended teaching in an amateur interview where he was asked about the current perception of teaching.
He later gets basically accosted by the cameraman (the YouTube comments describe this in a bit more detail) who claims that 10% of all teachers are bad. When asked by Damon (and Damon’s mom, who is a teacher) where he got that number from, he basically says “I don’t know. 10% of people in all jobs are bad.” Whatever that means. Arbitrary statistic ahoy!
