Aside from the announcements, gadgets, and educational technology tools, there was one big thing that bears mentioning about Adobe MAX. The keynote address by Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch featured what might be the largest and densest screen on the planet.
During the unveiling of the new Adobe products, Lynch gave a shout out to the team behind the mega-projection screen. He said it’s 300 million pixels being moved around each second. He didn’t share the size of the screen but, since I was in the audience, you’ll have to trust me when I say it was at least 300 feet wide and spread onto 3 walls. Very impressive.
Below is a video and photo gallery from Lynch’s keynote address. All photos were taken by me sitting in the direct middle of the audience about 100 feet back. I expect this type of technology to be seen on upcoming award shows as well as other high-end productions.
Sorry for the panning back and forth, I wanted to be sure to show that there were 3 giant screens being used. I suck as a videographer!
Ironically, it’s a pretty stark contrast to Apple’s upcoming keynote address by CEO Tim Cook. That’s expected to be a low-key event with just Cook, a slideshow, and a new device or two.
(You can watch the entire keynote video here. It’s on a loop and you basically pick it up wherever it happens to be at that time.)
