It’s time for your Friday brainteaser. Below is an image that was sent to me from more than a few friends and is certainly an interesting way to learn about being comprehension and attention to detail. So, here we go: can you find the mistake in the image below?

It took most of my friends at least a few minutes to figure out the issue. Be sure to share this image with your friends, students and colleagues to see if they can figure out the issue. Then find out how long it took them. Enjoy!

Hint: the answer to the problem is in the thumbnail of this article. Need another hint? Check out the Edudemic Facebook page comments!

  • Mostly, this is just a cheap trick to get people to reblog. It does not reflect well on whomever posts it.

I think someone meant to put the the word “the” in in twice. So is it mistake?

i think the mistake is in the "reblog if you found it". in my opinion it should be "reblog if you find it"

    “mistake”

  • we all  know that muslims  don’t  eat  porks but many people  don’t know  that  in pakistan  they  never  offer  beef to a important guest . Beef is cheap  and easily  available, so  a pakistani   would  never  offer  a guest  something  as  common as steak. Instead, he or she  wold  serve leg  of lam  as appetize  and  chicken, or fish as main course  or the other  way around

Yep nice. And the human brain actually overcompensates for problems like the (double the)  in order to follow and understand communication and language more efficiently. So if you do not see it right away it is because the human mind is hard wired to move right along.

  • nice post!

  • the answer is that there are 2 “the”s in the pic

The mistake is that you find something. This means that to you the detail (text or grammar) is more important than the message. Our brains look for a deeper meaning. I see it as the the demonstration of psychology that is indicated by the number of reblogs and the number and type of comments!

  • This was very confusing to me at first. Then 15 min later I found out that there were two the’s.
