Sometimes it’s just easier to get your thoughts down by physiclaly writing them out.As a student, I was constantly scribbling notes (educational ones, I swear) or trying to explain myself using hand gestures. Thanks to a brilliant new invention, I can turn my laptop into a whiteboard.
DrawTop is the creation of Ryan Mitchell and Erik Fogg, a pair of students who wanted to give others a low-tech canvas that could accompany their laptop wherever they went. Rather than lugging around a whiteboard, they invented DrawTop.
It’s a $12 vinyl sticker ($10 for tablets) that you attach to the back of your laptop or tablet (or anywhere else, for that matter). After that, you can use dry-erase markers to draw to your heart’s content. This could be a terrific way to have students display their names in a classroom filled with laptops. There are obviously a bunch of other uses but I know it would have helped me back in my student days.
