How did you navigate to this page just now? By using a mouse and keyboard? If so, there’s a good chance they’re crawling with germs. In fact, some of your most-used devices probably even have poop on them. Thanks to a new infographic from Keeping It Kleen we (unfortunately) now know the truth.
- Keyboards are about 5x dirtier and have 60x more germs than toilet seats.
- Keyboards are typically 150x over the limit for an acceptable amount of bacteria.
- The dirtiest device in the home? The TV remote.
- Light switches are awful: they have up to 217 different kinds of bacteria per square inch.

Yikes. This made me clean my keyboard, desk, mouse and phone. Next up is, well, everything I can find. Will this make you take a hard look at your habits and cause you to clean up your gadgets and other stuff?
What is this nonsense? You have billions of bacteria living inside your own body, and lots of poop too. Infectious disease is not an important killer in the United States: obesity and inactivity are. Instead of wasting time wiping off your light switches, how about going outside for a nice healthy walk?
