Getting into college used to mean hard work, extracurriculars, and a bit of luck. Now, it seems like that’s really shifted towards almost 100% luck. While good grades and test scores are of course very important to admissions offices, they’re not really the ultimate defining factor in an admission decision.
There’s a certain je ne sais quois that has to be apparent in an applicant. Thanks to a new infographic by onlinecollege.org, it’s easy to see how getting into the college of your choice (or any college for that matter) has turned into a wild and risky game.
