I’m a big fan of Dave Eggers. It wasn’t until recently though that I realized he had a quarterly publication called ‘The Thing.’ It’s basically a bunch of writing from Eggers and his friends that get sent to you 4 times a year. But there’s a twist. That writing is sent to you on ‘ordinary objects’ like shower curtains (see below).
Unfortunately, the annual dues for ‘The Thing‘ are $200 which seems quite steep. But, original ideas and creative writing are usually worth the price. And when it comes to Dave Eggers, you know you’re getting some top-notch writing. Sad that I learned about this the day after Christmas and it’s a bit too late to sneak it onto my Christmas list under the wire. I guess there’s always 2012…
