This might be the biggest change to Twitter in a very long time. The microblogging site is getting a total facelift in the near future and it’s beautiful. The new design seems to focus more on discovery and less on trying to keep up with a live stream. Unfortunately, it seems like Twitter is replicating Facebook as it’s now embedding media right into the stream. While a real timesaver, it’s hard to not draw the comparison.
I’m personally a fan of the design overhaul and think it’s overdue. There are four new tabs that are the main focus of the new Twitter –”Home”, “Connect”, “Discover” and “Me” — that make for a less complicated and more streamlined experience.
Twitter says the new design will be rolling out over the next few weeks. However, the iPhone and Android apps are already updated and have the new UI look and feel.
