Good news for Khan Academy and low-cost online education programs. Bad news for, well, everyone at or thinking about attending college. The Department of Education has now released information about just how much tuition has gone up over recent years. It’s not pretty.
The Department of Education’s College Affordability and Transparency Center says tuition at public four-year universities has gone up a staggering 15% from 2008 to 2010. But if you thought that was bad, wait until you see how much some other schools have raised their tuition. Some by as much as about 50%. That’s downright crazy.
But what’s even crazier is the University of the District of Columbia who raised tuition by 123%. But that’s an outlier. Scary, but not what everyone is doing. So here’s the list of the schools that have raised rates the most.
