A cheap and durable laptop for every child? Sounds great to me. But as you probably know by now, the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) initiative has hit quite a few obstacles. From a weakened dollar to rising production costs to lackluster promotions, there’s been a few hiccups.

But the overall goal of OLPC is grand. I fully support it and love the idea of bringing technology to children around the world. While there are problems that need to be addressed first (political unrest, internet connectivity, etc.), it’s reassuring to see this kind of work happening.

So how has OLPC done now that it’s been around for 7 years? This new infographic from Online Colleges just sent in this morning sheds some light.
