Whether you’re a student on the night before a big exam or a teacher hoping to cram a presentation into your brain, you are probably using flashcards. A tried-and-true way to cram, flashcards have been all the rage for generations. Personally, I used them for almost every quiz, test, exam, and standardized test I had to take from middle school through college.
But how do flashcards work? Sure, you write a note on a piece of paper (or in an app) and then repeat the question and answer to yourself until you lock it away in your brain. There’s more to it though. There’s actually a couple different ways to recall information and, believe it or not, cramming actually doesn’t do as much as you’d think. Take a look at Course Hero’s latest infographic and let us know how you like to study!

Great post. Its an easy read and very informative. Thanks!
Very informative indeed! I recently wrote a post about a flashcard software I use, it’s called mnemosyne, do you know it? http://mhlanguagereviews.wordpress.com/2012/08/10/tip-to-boost-your-language-memory/
I also know the way that how flashcard can help us to optimize our memeory when I stumbled on Superflashcard.com and read Spaced Repetition. I recommend the site to you because I can benefit from its rich database and its system helping me to keep track my studying progress and create my flashcards easily.
