google crisis map sandyIf you’re on the east coast like we are, you’ve got a pit in your stomach about Hurricane Sandy. It’s shaping up to be brutal and there’s talk of widespread power outages and dangerous flooding and winds. In an effort to keep everyone safe, Google has created a very useful ‘Crisis Map’ that shows plenty of relevant information about the storm’s trajectory, details about it, radar views, cloud cover, and more.

Click here to view the Google Crisis Map.

I also saw a helpful tweet from a Twitter friend Joe Mazza who recommended anyone looking to show the power of Twitter to track the #Sandy hashtag today. It’s certainly trending and worth following for real-time information about the storm.

Just goes to show the power of the web and social media.

It’s starting to get windy here in Massachusetts so this is me signing off to keep my home and family safe. I hope everyone else does the same!

  • I don’t know what makes the climate change people happy, they seem to be nuts. We have weather patterns that repeat and there is little evidence that humans cause and change. If humans actually do cause change, then we need to reduce the number of humans. We should ask the ones actually worried about this to volunteer.
