One of the most popular web tools being used in classrooms today is not necessarily about learning. It’s about communication. Remind101 is a free way for teachers to communicate via text message to parents and students using the custom reminder system. Check out the first article about Remind101 from back in September 2011.
It’s a great tool developed by brothers Brett and David Kopf, a pair of innovative thinkers looking to bring some common sense solutions to your classroom. What could be better than that?
So the big news now is that Remind101 has unveiled its free iOS app. It works on iPhone, iPod Touch, and even the iPad. It basically gives you a better way to manage reminders and text messages using the Remind101 service while on the go. Since teachers barely sit down, this app has been a long time coming. Here’s a bit more grab-and-go info on the new app from the iTunes Store:
*Message your entire class of students or parents in seconds.
*Teachers never see students’ phone numbers. Students never see theirs.
*Students and parents join by sending a text message. No computer needed.
*Unlimited students or parents
*Unlimited text messages
*No ads, ever.
