You may not have all of William Shakespeare’s work committed to your memory, but you probably know each and every one of these phrases. In all honesty, most of these phrases set my teeth on edge. For goodness sake, they make me really feel like they’re all too much of a good thing.

See what I did there? All of these are phrases we owe to Shakespeare. In any case, I found this visualization from hitrecordjoe absolutely fascinating and hope you do too!

  • An amusing list; however, at least one of these (“set your teeth on edge”) actually comes from the Bible (Shakespeare probably read it in the Geneva Bible). Haven’t checked them all, but I’m pretty sure some of the others pre-date him as well.
