It’s hard to figure out the best education apps that are out there. Katie and I aim to do our best to sort them out but we certainly can’t keep up with the daily influx of interesting and useful apps that could have a spot in education.
Emphasis on the word could.
Many apps are complete bunk. Many are paid apps. Let’s talk about both of these kinds of apps a little later. For now, let’s focus on finding you the best free education education app
So let’s assume that you want how do you quickly figure out which free apps work for your grade or skill level. Lucky for you, Gary Toews has put together the below list of useful education apps as recommended by the STaRT Education Department. Below are nearly all the apps I’d personally recommend to anyone looking to outfit their iPad, iPhone, or other device with free apps perfect for their grade level.

I have developed an app for smartboard training and think it might be of interest to you. It is the only smartboard app in the US and I think it has the potential to help many teachers
Image Searcher (free) has a warning about sexual content, violence, and alcohol & drug use images. It says you must be 17 to download. Did not check the rest.
