Teachers are performers. We have mentioned that before and will mention it again. But not everyone is a teacher. Sometimes you’re the star of a Broadway musical and are invited to speak in front of the President of the United States at the White House Evening of Poetry, Music, and the Spoken Word.

No? You haven’t been either? Well, Lin-Manuel Miranda was invited to the White House where he delivered an exceptional talk / rap about history. It’s all about Alexander Hamilton and walks you through the man’s entire life and touches on the importance of education and writing. The phrase the ‘pen is mightier than the sword’ definitely comes into play here.

The video above is from May 12, 2009 and is worth watching the entire way through. Trust me. However, there is some NSFW language as he does start out his rap with some relatively crude language. Nothing objectionable, just wanted to give you a heads up and let you decide for yourself!
