learning english

First and foremost – you cannot advance in anything as long as you are afraid! English is fun, and you should make it fun for you. Play with it. Use the time you have on your own, and practice. Exaggerate the pronunciation until it becomes your second nature. Don’t hold back. Make it an exercise for your mouth and face. Make it fun!

Don’t get me wrong – I think that having a good pronunciation is very important, but if you make it fun it will be much easier for you. Release the pressure and dive into this all English adventure with ease and comfort.

Another important thing is to use that new knowledge in talking to your friends. Both those who have the same objectives as you (to improve their pronunciation) and native speakers. Now, you’re probably wondering ‘’where on Earth will I find a native speaker willing to talk to me…?’’. Well, you’d be surprised how many people out there are willing to help you! Join Internet groups, make friends with native speakers and long behold – you will have yourself a friend who will help you in all your English pronunciation problems.

If you’ve spent years learning English then you are probably familiar with that strange feeling when you realize that you are actually thinking in English! Have you ever experienced that? We’re sure you have. Excellent! Use it now. Whenever you are thinking about something in your native language, rethink it in English. Then think about how would it sound in English. Than say it out loud. Hear yourself saying it. Record it, listen to it again. Are you satisfied with how it sounds? Repeat this whenever you can.

Use everything in your surroundings as a tool to practice. For example – you’re in the kitchen preparing food. Describe that process in English – out loud. Name everything you see and do – from slicing onions to cooking that delicious meat. Say it all out loud. Slowly and clearly. After a while you’ll be surprised how many new words pop up in your head when you are relaxed and practicing without any pressure at all. Soon you will be able to make conversation with other people easily. You will talk clearly and will be well understood, by everyone!
