Edudemic Magazine
Announcing the first-ever monthly iPad magazine about education technology.
Edudemic was founded 18 months ago as a way to discuss, share, and try out the latest education technology. It is now a 200,000-strong community of teachers, education administrators, and technology buffs looking to learn about and try the next big thing.
Why An iPad Magazine?
It’s impossible to talk about education technology without mentioning the Apple iPad. At least half of the articles and discussions on Edudemic involve the iPad in some way. That’s why we built this magazine.
Dubbed ‘Edudemic Magazine,’ this monthly publication is now available in the Apple App Store.
What Does It Cost?
The magazine operates on a pretty standard subscription model. Every monthly issue is just $1.99 per issue (cheaper than a cup of coffee). While that may be more than you’re willing to pay, this is a very small operation and we don’t have the volume / resources to offer a free or ultra-cheap publication.
You can buy a 6-month subscription for $10.99 (like getting one issue free!) or a full year for $21.99 (2 issues free!) This small price actually makes the whole magazine possible. Each issue is jam-packed with content you won’t find anywhere else. From app guides to interactive features to an in-depth look at what’s happening in education … you get a lot for a couple dollars.
Support
***NOTE ABOUT VERSION 2.0: Since it’s a totally rebuilt app, you need to delete the current version, head to the app store, and then download the latest version of the Edudemic Magazine app. This will enable all purchased items and subscriptions. If the app asks you if you’d like to restore your purchases, hit NO THANKS.***
Before you get in touch, read through these Frequently Asked Support Questions below. These are the most frequent questions so hopefully they’ll help you out!
I just subscribed but don’t have access to all the issues! What gives?
The way Apple subscriptions work, you get access to the most recent issue and then the forthcoming 6 (or 12, depending on your subscription) months worth of issues. Since there are only 2 issues available because we just launched in January, this can be confusing. But rest assured that your subscription is valid and will give you access to all the upcoming issues for the duration of your subscription.
I was an early subscriber, now it won’t let me view the issues.
If you subscribed in late January or early February, you’ll need to get in touch with us at edudemic@gmail.com. There was a subscription bug that’s since been fixed. We’ll help you out. Just drop us a line!
I subscribed but it just won’t work. What the heck?
If you’re a subscriber and the most recent issue does not load, then simply delete the app and then re-install it. The app will prompt you to ‘Restore All Purchases’ when you restart the app and that will give you access to all the issues you’ve paid for.
I bought the February issue and then subscribed. I still have to pay for the January issue?
As above, the way Apple subscriptions work is that they give you access to the most recent issue regardless of if you’ve bought it already. Most users purchase the January issue and then, if they wish to subscribe, do so in order to get access to the February issue and forthcoming issues.
It says ‘File Not Loaded’!
That means you were not in wi-fi (or 3G for some iPads) range for the length of the download of an issue. Since some issues are quite large, they take a bit of time to download. So be sure to have a solid connection before you start downloading. Regardless, you can always click ‘Restore All Purchases’ on the top right of the app when you regain Internet connectivity.
How do I know my subscription worked?
The rule of thumb is to see if the big green ‘Become A Subscriber’ box disappears from the app. That’s when you know you’re subscribed. Also, a pop-up notification on your iPad will tell you as well.
How do I restore my purchases?
When in doubt, click the top right gear icon on the app and click ‘Restore All Purchases.’ If you’re a subscriber, this will give you access to your issues if you mistakenly deleted the app or had another issue.
How long do subscriptions last?
It all depends on if you choose the 6-month or 12-month option. We reserve the right to adjust the prices of individual issues and subscriptions (as we figure out what works / what doesn’t) but will notify you via the website and all our social media channels should any prices change.
I need to email you. How do I do that?
